Debut Concert – Christmas 2013

On December 21, 2013 the Downey Master Chorale celebrated it’s debut concert of Christmas Classics. The group began meeting in July, through an open call for auditions, and grew and changed until it filled the Downey Moravian Church for it’s first outing. The featured piece was Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, followed by a second half of traditional songs and advent classics. Music Director Margaret Zeleny welcomed the community for supporting this new group, invited the audience to sing along to the Hallelujah Chorus and introduced the beginnings of a children’s chorus.
